Community Christian Ministries Foundation
Community Christian Ministries provides financial resources to Christian organizations that serve the poor and needy in greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States of America. Community Christian Ministries partners with other non-profit organizations in the greater Grand Rapids area that aid persons in need. In the past, dollar amounts of grants have ranged $400-$5,000. Several organizations have received matching grants, with some money coming from other sources and then matched by Community Christian Ministries.
Community Christian Ministries began in 1929 as the Mission Industrial Store under the auspices of the Christian Reformed Board of Evangelism. When the Mission Thrift Store was sold in 2001, the name was changed to Community Christian Ministries to better reflect the organizations’ activities. Ministry emphasis continues except that now Community Christian Ministries operates as a foundation instead of a retail store.
Community Christian Ministries is concerned about good stewardship in using grant dollars and therefore, asks prospective grant recipients to complete an online application.
